Cairo, Egypt
Day 2

Arrive at Cairo International Airport @ 6:50pm
 Total: 1818 Miles, 3 Hours, 57 Minutes
Grand Total: 6685 Miles, 14 Hours, 10 Minutes

Upon arrival we need to get a Visa, instructions from a internet site:

How to get your visa at the airport: The visa is simply a stamp (like a mail or postage stamp ) that you buy from the visa office, at the port of entry just before the immigration booth; you can't really miss it! The visa will cost you around $15 and after buying it; you just stick in any empty page on your passport. Don't worry; it's so easy! Once you have bought your visa you then stand in line to get your passport stamped by the immigration officer.
It doesn't mention this in that article but we will also need to present an arrival form to the immigration officer. Most airlines offer them during flights so they will be filled out before arriving in Cairo. The process is usually speedy, no questions asked, though lines might be long if several flights have arrived at once.

Our tour representative was right there when we got off the plane. He immediately went to a desk with our passports and $25 each for our Egyptian visas and the guy behind the desk didn't even look up at us. Took the money and handed him the 2 Visas, he stuck it on an empty page in our passport and we were on our way to baggage pickup. Went through immigration with our luggage in a couple of minutes and were loaded into a van and off we went to our hotel! ThIs guy was so efficient! I couldn't figure out how we got through so fast, what happened to everyone else who was on that plane, who needed a Visa? But who cares how he did it! I really agonized about this visa at home, do I apply for the Visa before we leave? Then I found out that it would take 4-6 weeks and I would have to mail in our passports. Some sites really recommended that we do this because they said we could be refused at the airport with no explanations given. So I asked Georgina if she waited until she got to the airport when she visited Egypt and she said yes. So I waited and I'm glad I did!

The Trafalgar rep. told us we were going to be a total of 6 people on this tour! I couldn't believe it! Great for us!
I asked him about the tour we want to take tomorrow to Alexandria and he said he would arrange for us, when he checked us in our hotel, to go with another group that was staying at the another hotel. He even set up a wake-up call for us at 5:30am. He said we could pay for it Wednesday when we met with our Tour Director. He's so good!
