Wuhan, Hubei, China
One of the most important cities of China’s Republican Revolution, this capital of Hubei province is the gateway city to the Yangtze Gorges. Travel between the cities three districts (Hankou, Wuchang and Hanyang) once required ferries across ferries the wide river. Today, the 3,600-foot Yangtze River Bridge links them all, the first major engineering feat of the new communist era.
