Sweet Mary Jane!

They call Seattle the Emerald City & we still not completely sure why but smoking marijuana is legal here so maybe the morning fog over the city is not due to the weather .

Many thanks to Ken for picking us up at the train station, showing us around & allowing two crazy Aussie chicks to take over his apartment & kitchen. The architecture around Capitol Hill where he has an apartment is just beautiful & easy walking to just about everything you would every need.

We had an awesome day on Saturday with a lovely drive thru the Cascade Mountains to Leavenworth, a beautiful German town where all the buildings look authentic of a village in Europe. Went to an apple pressing party at some friends of Kens who do this every year. Pressing the apples from local orchards to make apple cider, yum!

Sunday was a 'tasting' walking tour of Pikes Market & I was very impressed. I love a market & this one runs like a community with all stall holders staying true to the original set up in keeping with the original format & they really support each other, the people who live nearby with a clinic & preschool & the homeless in the area . Really had a good feel about the place.

Sunday night we entertained the neighbours with a roast lamb dinner. Met a fab couple of blokes who’d been together for 47 years! So funny & just so sweet, was a great night. And Barron who works for Holland America & chooses who gets what cabin so we thanked her for ours which was just incredible. Talk about small world.

So our time in Seattle is done, it’s all going by so quick. Off we go to meet Gianna in San Francisco.

PS – Sandie broke her reading glasses couple of days ago, they only have one arm now & sit crooked on her nose to my great amusement.
