So here I am one week & a coupla days after touchdown & I am feeling the pain in a big way.
It IS nice to be home of course & I love being with Sungey the cat every day instead of pining for him but I am missing the 'world' in a big way!

When asked today 'how are you settling back in?' I almost couldn't answer - I am struggling to find the right examples to give & I can't truly express the sense of loss I feel at not being out there simply 'experiencing'. I feel so very lucky to be able to take these special times for myself & just 'do it' but the post world travel blues really knock me around every time!

I lived overseas for a year (too many years ago now) & I often reflect on how I never have really 'settled' back in - I hope I can change that this time but I miss the wonder of arriving in a new place at night - opening the blinds the next morning & marvelling at what could possibly be awaiting me down in the streets, of coming back to a place I so loved & finding I love it just as much if not more this time around, of turning a corner & seeing something right there in front of me that I have seen in books or on the TV forever & feeling like it waited there purely for my eyes to cast on over it!

On this side of the world, something pretty bloody wonderful has happened since I arrived home - I was offered the job of my dreams & I grabbed it tightly! I'll let you all know what/where etc. within the coming weeks but for now I can tell you that it is in Travel & I am over the moon!

I will be keeping this blog active indefinitely & will update it as I can but I think so far I have most definitely proven that 50 is without a doubt, the new black!
