We set the alarm for 5:15 so we could grab breakfast at the hotel and the 6:20 shuttle to the airport. After checking our one bag, which we made sure weighed less than 50 pounds (actually weighed in at 45 pounds), made our way through security, which took about 20 minutes just for our stuff to go through since TSA was training a new employee. Of course, 3 suitcases, 4 backpacks, shoes, and electronics was quite a bit to look through. We got to Seattle and met up with our best friends the Swifts, who had just arrived back from a one week cruise and were flying home through Ontario. Since both of our flights were delayed, we were able to spend about an hour and a half with them catching up on our trips. The kids had fun playing UNO until it was time for our flight to San Diego. The skies in Seattle were smokey from the fires that had been burning for 3 weeks in British Columbia and they finally cleared up in Oregon. Arrived back to San Diego, took our first UBER ride back home, and closed that chapter on our adventure to Alaska.
