Ko Phangan, Surat Thani, Thailand
It was the first day in a while where it was just the two of us and it seemed a bit strange. We sorted out our accommodation on Ko Samui then drove to 'Phaeng Waterfall National Park'. It turned out to be quite a strenuous climb through jungle interior in the blistering heat. On our way there we got pulled over by the Thai police, which was rather scary. As Andrew, the driver, wasn't wearing a helmet there was an on the spot fine of B200. I pulled out of my bag all the money we had on us, which when counted was B190. However, this wasn't good enough so the police officer just told us to go away and so we paid nothing!!!!!!!!!

We had a short rest after climbing down the track from the waterfall before driving up the west coast of the island to Haad Son, which was a very quiet little cove . We did a spot of sunbathing, reading and swimming throughout the afternoon. On our drive back to Greenpeace we stopped at Thongsala to do a bit of shopping. We bought a small electric kettle so we would be able to cook cheap pot noodles when we needed to save some money. We also ate street food for the first time. It was tasty stuff and as a bonus neither of us became ill. We sat outside at Greenpeace and Andrew taught me how to play a card game called CRASH. I thought it was pretty rubbish and pointless. We bought a few cheap Changs from a 7 Eleven and sat on our veranda. There was a crazy thunderstorm overnight and the thunder was so loud it even woke us up.
