Hospital

Ko Samui, Surat Thani, Thailand
I was rudely awoken at 6am by a nurse to carry out my vital statistic checks, which were normal. The doctor came to see me and explained that I had a very low level of potassium in my blood and a high level of white blood cells in my urine. I explained that I had taken antibiotics for a water infection a little while ago and he thought that the infection mustn't have cleared properly, so decompression sickness was ruled out. I was given antibiotics via a drip and no longer needed to wear an oxygen mask, but had to stay in hospital another night for observation.

We filled in the day by watching film after film on HBO, as we had a flat screen TV in our room, in addition to old-skool cartoons like Pingu and Tintin! Andrew almost burst out laughing every time the nurse took my temperature and shouted, "No fever!' whilst grinning from ear to ear! He even made time to sunbathe on the lounger on the balcony . He hadn't eaten much all day as I was being fed hospital food, so he decided to order a 'Pizza Hut' delivery to the hospital. There was a knock at the room door half an hour later, which we assumed was a nurse but Andrew opened it to find the delivery man! Pizza Hut delivered right to your door, even in hospital, for the bargain price of B203!
