Welcome to Thailand!

Trat, Thailand
We had a walk to the one main supermarket after breakfast to stock up on Cornflakes so we could eat cheap over the next week. We then spent another day chilling on the beach, but I started getting the same symptoms as I had on Ko Tao. James and Natalie who we met on the speedboat to the island turned up on the beach next to us, so we had something to eat together at our place and then arranged to meet up later that night. We went to sit on the swing on the beach to watch the awesome sunset, whilst listening to music. I started to feel worse so went for a lie down, but after an hour or so I started getting tingles in my arms and head, so thought I should go to the clinic. The staff at 'Island Huts' drove us to the clinic in the clapped out truck, but as the island was so small only a nurse ran the place. My blood sugar was low so he gave me some red liquid sugar! A dive shop owner then came to help out as the people at the clinic spoke very little English. The guy, who kept saying "Welcome to Thailand!" eventually arranged for a speedboat to take me to the mainland. At this point I had no idea where Andrew was as he had went back to our bungalow to pack up our stuff, whilst another six people had turned up and were stood around me as I was lying on the bed in a rather confused state! I was put onto a stretcher and carried outside before being slid into the back of a truck. It drove me to the pier where Andrew was waiting for me. It was a rather bumpy speedboat journey, in pitch blackness, back to the mainland. I was in a right daze for the entire hour, just staring at the starry sky whilst Andrew was squeezing my hand. Once we arrived at the hospital I was given all the vital checks and then taken to my private room. We were starving so the lovely nurse managed to order us some food from a restaurant and Andrew got the hottest food known to man. It literally consisted of 50% green chillies and 50% pork mince! My safe option was sweet and sour pork. I was given a sleeping pill and before I knew it I was flat out asleep.
