Sleep Day

Chiang Mai, Thailand
We got dropped off at a petrol station two hours later than expected, maybe as a result of the poor headlights causing us to drive slower. I felt cold to the bone as did most other people off the bus. We were told which songthaew to get into and we were then driven in to the city centre. In actual fact it was 'Nice Tour & Travel' who picked us up from the petrol station and so they took us to a particular guesthouse, in the hope that we would book a tour. One member of staff kept saying not to worry about our bags as they were all sorted, so we could have a seat and get a cup of tea or coffee. I was so tired I couldn't face any of the small talk so I asked him where we were on our map. He reluctantly told me, so we picked up our bags and set off in search of 'Libra Guesthouse' which we had already booked in advance. We quite successfully read the map, even I had an input for once, and when we arrived Andrew removed his shoes before entering. The owner had a right laugh at him and said it was fine to leave them on for the moment. We got to our room and slept until around 2:30pm. We then got ourselves ready for a walk around the place.

We ventured across the moat out of the old city and then down to the Ping river . We passed some awesome little boutique shops selling all sorts from clothes to furniture. We chilled out on our balcony for the rest of the afternoon before heading to the 7 Eleven for a food supply. We were still shattered so sat in bed watching 'Apocalypse Now' until the Archos decided to run out of battery fifteen minutes before the end.
