I want you to be my wife...

Chiang Mai, Thailand
We had to set an alarm, but even then left it a bit late to pack and be ready to check out at 10am. We have a tendency to empty the contents of our backpack and spread it around our room, so it takes us ages to pack everything. We left our backpacks at reception and our lift arrived to take us to the Xtreme Centre. It was a short ride out of Chiang Mai city centre and when we arrived we had our own personal instructor for off-road buggying. Clearly, no other girl was stupid enough to agree to such a thing on Valentine's Day! We had to wear an over-sized boiler suit, hair net, crash helmet, goggles and a face mask, so as you can imagine we looked awesome! The instructor asked who was going to drive but it was pretty clear from my face that I wasn't getting behind the wheel. We got going and I actually enjoyed most of it, apart from when Andrew drove right into a huge stone which was on my side so I lifted right off the seat and screamed like a girl. Andrew got overly confident on the ride back so put his foot right down as I was gripping on tight, as part of the "road" was on a cliff edge. Andrew reckoned he would have gone faster if I hadn't been in the buggy, so he clearly cares about my life but isn't so worried about his own! We were covered in red dust when we got back so had a quick wash before getting a lift back to our guesthouse.

We collected our backpacks and went to check in at our little bit of luxury . I felt a little out of place at first with a huge, flowery backpack as the bell boy gave us a drink on arrival. It was a shame it was only orange juice rather than champagne! The room was a decent size with a 'King Size' bed and above all a hot shower, which I have missed over the last few days more than anything. I immediately got the hot water running and had the longest shower ever. I took full advantage of the bathrobe, slippers, fresh fruit and mini-bar and lay on the bed for an hour or so simply relaxing. We then went to the SPA for a Thai massage. Firstly, we got a herbal foot soak and scrub and I had to stop myself from laughing as I hate people touching my feet. This was the reason I wasn't sure I would like a massage, but I thought I would give it a try. We went into another room and had to change our clothing. Andrew had some difficulty with the trousers we were given to wear so the Thai masseur came in while he was stood in his boxers to fasten them properly, whilst laughing! It was an hour long massage and the most relaxing thing ever . I didn't feel ticklish at all, whereas Andrew made a few giggles out loud as the lady massaged his thigh!

We had a quick SangSom in our room whilst getting ready and then went to the hotel restaurant for a steak dinner. I had my first glass of wine on the trip, but it was red so didn't like it all that much. We then went to D2, a nice hotel with funky chairs and lighting outside for a cocktail. We then returned to our luxury room, poured another SangSom and Andrew, the little mood setter, put the 'Mumford & Sons' album on to play in the background. We sat on the bed and he had a present for me wrapped up in Pandora tissue paper which I had seen in his backpack when we were on Ko Phangan. So, I wasn't exactly shocked and we had a little joke about the lack of surprise. However, the surprise that came was Andrew holding my hand and saying "I want you to be my wife!" He even pulled out a ring for me to wear for now. I had a few tears and genuinely couldn't believe what he had said so didn't exactly manage to respond with any answer! The Pandora present was an S charm, as I will soon be called Mrs. Stobbs!
