Grasshopper Day

Chiang Mai, Thailand
We had breakfast fairly early before ensuring we spent every last minute in the luxury room. The hotel receptionist even rang us at 11:45am to ask whether we were checking out that day, even though check out wasn't until 12pm. We didn't want to leave but we finally checked out with a minute or two to spare and managed to book into Eagle House 2 for the night. We set off walking, Andrew was carrying the day bag and as I had put the remainders of the fruit basket in it he ended up getting mushed banana all over his jeans and the bag. He wasn't impressed at all, though I couldn't help but laugh as he shoved what was left of the banana in my hand! We had yet another chilled out day. I went out onto the balcony to get WiFi and just as Andrew was saying to me, "Watch you don't stand on that..." I put my bare foot on the ground, felt a crunch beneath it and squealed whilst jumping around. I think it was only a grasshopper, but I still got goose bumps from head to toe.

We went to the 7 Eleven for some cheap food and decided we would boil some eggs, as well as eat the usual pork flavoured pot noodle . My egg turned out to be the consistency of jelly so I opted out of eating it and hated every minute of eating my salty pot noodle.

Later that night we went back to 'Mango' restaurant as the food was good last time and very cheap. Andrew got chilli and basil chicken but it wasn't quite to his face burning standard! We also got a sweet pancake each from a street vendor on the way back to Eagle House, as they were too tempting. We realised, whilst struggling to sleep because of the loud music, that the Reggae Bar was directly behind our guesthouse. This made for a frustrating sleep!
