Chiang Rai, Thailand
We woke up to an early morning alarm, which are becoming too regular for my liking. Andrew went off to the shop on his daily milk run whilst I got ready. We both ignored the boiled eggs and stuck to our cereal. We got a Tuk Tuk to the 'Arcade Bus Station' where we had to wait an hour for the next bus to Chiang Rai and we couldn't get a seat next to each other. It claimed to be an air-conditioned bus but it was of a very poor standard. The roads on the journey were rather windy and mountainous and on a number of occasions I grabbed hold of my arm rest, whilst glancing at Andrew. It took us three hours to reach Chiang Rai where we arrived at the new bus station, which was well out of town, unlike the old bus station which was right in the centre of town. So we had to get a Tuk Tuk to Chat House. It was the cheapest place we had stayed yet, at B200 for a double room with a shared bathroom. Our room actually had a double and a single bed in it so it was quite large. The only negative thing was that the toilet and shower block was outside of the building in which we slept.

We had a walk around part of the town and passed a 'Fresh Market' selling all sorts of produce. We were looking for a little restaurant but we didn't have much luck. However, we did pass the Clock Tower, which you couldn't really miss as it was large, gold and glistening! We decided to just go and eat back at Chat House but the food was again a little too salty for our liking. I was still not feeling my best so we headed to the 'Overbrook Hospital' just over the road from Chat House. I had a blood test which came back normal so the doctor booked me an appointment to see a specialist in the morning.
