Tramadol

Chiang Rai, Thailand
I woke up at around 3:30am and couldn't get back to sleep at all because the local dogs were going crazy and barking non-stop. I kept saying in my head "Cock-a-doodle-die!" but unfortunately my request was not granted. I sat on the laptop for a while, but I woke Andrew up and he told me I had to at least try and get back to sleep. I had awful pain in my back and chest and literally felt like I was dying, so we had to make another visit to the Overbrook Hospital. It was so frustrating again as the doctor barely spoke a word of English and she seemed to be asking the nurse for advice on my problem, so I just looked at Andrew despairingly. She offered me a pain-relief injection, but I never wanted to see a needle again after the last incident, so instead she prescribed some strong painkillers, called Tramadol. If only I had known the effects of Tramadol before taking one I may have thought twice, as I felt so spaced out and couldn't sleep. Andrew said they were strong but I didn't expect them to make me feel like I was on a different planet! I had a very unbroken sleep so just decided to give up and we went to eat breakfast.

I completely failed at eating my toast as I felt sick and then started to black out a little, so Andrew had to help me to the toilet . I drank some water and managed to make it up to our room, where I lay on the bed for the rest of the day. The Tramadol eventually wore off and I started to feel hungry so we headed back down to the restaurant. I was craving some comfort food so I ordered a burger and fries, whereas Andrew who feels as though he is cheating when he orders Western food, got a Panang Curry.

We sat and chilled in the restaurant throughout the afternoon and then walked to the 'Fresh Market' to get some fried chicken and corn on the cob, which is becoming our favourite type of street food. I managed to Skype Jill and Sarah who filled me in on all the Bishop crack! They made me extremely jealous as they were drinking English tea and eating a pick 'n' mix. We got sucked into Skype, speaking to Dean and Sam as well as the Dye household.
