Is it a jackfruit?

Ko Phayam, Ranong, Thailand
We woke up early considering we had such a broken sleep. I was so itchy during the night and although we were impressed with our bungalow at first, it turned out that the mattress definitely needed replacing as it felt as though you were sleeping on a wooden board, which curved in the middle so we rolled into each other. We went and sat on the wooden bench on our veranda as it was so hot in our bungalow. We must have only been sat there for five minutes when suddenly the bench collapsed beneath us and I had to grab Andrew as he nearly went back over into the undergrowth. His face was one of terror at the time! The wood had clearly rotted, as ants and bright yellow grubs were crawling all over it.

We got ready and had a walk into the village by the pier, stopping for breakfast at 'Multi Kulti' which turned out to be a good choice . We both got a 'Simple Breakfast' which consisted of a tasty omelette, home-made bread bun, freshly squeezed orange juice and tea or coffee. We then went to a moped rental place to haggle the price of a moped for one week. However, the Thai lady was having none of it and only offered the going rate of B250 a day, regardless of the fact we wanted it for a week. We thought we would try somewhere else later, so we went to the beach in front of 'Sabai Sabai' and chilled out. We walked to the end of the beach, climbed onto the rocky ledge and walked along it out to sea. We saw loads of green and blue coloured crabs that scuttled away from our footsteps. We reached the edge of the ledge and climbed down onto the rocks. Andrew pointed out a mouldy jackfruit, but as I took a closer look it had eyes and a mouth and it was in fact a dead, yet full of air, puffer fish! We also saw quite a few white-bellied sea eagles flying over head, but sadly there were no macaques in sight.

We went to a different moped rental place and managed to get a slightly better deal at B200 per day for one week . The moped was almost brand new with only 124km on the clock. Andrew admitted it was the best one he had drove yet, even though it did look like it was made for a girl! We then had a drive to Ao Kao Kwai beach to feel the talcum powder sand once again, but as the tide was out it had turned into a mud flat so didn't quite look as picturesque! We then drove to the other end of the same beach for a walk and collected some pretty shells along the way. We headed back for a cold shower and then went to 'Mr. Gao' for something to eat whilst watching the sunset. We couldn't resist the BBQ chicken served with fries and salad. It was a welcome change, especially since the fries were home-made! There was nobody around at 'Sabai Sabai' so we found a film on the TV. As we were watching it everyone else turned up and got glued to the TV, but it turned out to be the most depressing film ever and we all sat in silence! So we felt a little bad for dampening the mood. The film, which was called 'Everybody's Fine' was quite good though. As I was walking into the grubby toilet I felt something sting me and I had to pick an ant out from inside my bra. I actually cried a few tears as I also had to keep one eye on a massive spider whilst going to the toilet.
