Ko Phayam, Ranong, Thailand
We got up and enjoyed our cool, open-air shower that had pure tree canopy as a back-drop. I was starving as I hadn't been able to eat anything yesterday so we went straight to our restaurant for breakfast. It was a nice change to have marmalade on our toast, rather than the fake, bright pink jam that has never seen a fruit. We went to drop off some laundry before sitting in a bamboo beach hut. I really don't think there is any place in the world better than this spot! I spent the morning reading my rubbish book about a middle-aged woman having an affair whilst Andrew walked to the end of the bay and along the rocks that went out to sea. He returned and was so excited to tell me that he had seen a mud-skipper! We did a bit of sunbathing and then went for a swim in the crystal clear blue sea.

We went for a ride to the far north of the island to a beach called Ao Kwang Peeb . There was a place called 'Monkey Bar' but it was deserted, so we assumed it was only open at night as it seemed the ideal place for a party. The beach was also pretty much empty and a good spot for snorkelling. We returned to our bungalow and chilled on a bamboo beach hut for the rest of the afternoon, before deciding to go back to 'Mr. Gao' for something to eat. We sat at a table on the beach but I felt a few spots of rain and the sky looked quite dark so we moved inside just in time as it happened because we then heard thunder. I ate the same BBQ chicken as last time, but got twice as much chicken, and I was also tempted by the chocolate cake on the desk as we paid our bill. It kept me happy during the dark ride back to our bungalow. Andrew fancied a cup of coffee when we got back so he got out the 'Lovestar' kettle that had not seen much action lately. As soon as it was plugged into the socket the light bulb dimmed and then went out, which meant we had no electricity for the rest of the night and it was only 7:30pm! We had to use the laptop as a light when we needed the toilet as we came to realise that we must have left our torch at 'Sabai Sabai' or otherwise it was lost.
