Big Lizard Day

Ko Phayam, Ranong, Thailand
We were sat in our restaurant eating breakfast whilst enjoying the view out to sea. However, the view was spoilt slightly when a middle-aged man with long, back-combed grey hair tied in a ponytail walked past in the shallow water sporting a grey skin tight thong! I asked for my soft boiled eggs to be cooked for five minutes as there was a choice but they were a little too runny for my liking, so I think six minutes is the way forward. As we were walking across the wooden plank bridge to our moped we heard a fair but of rustling in the undergrowth before spotting a huge lizard darting into the water. We hopped on the moped and attempted to drive to the old Morgan village but the concrete road abruptly stopped and turned into a sand track, which was no good for our moped. We went to the place that did our laundry as we realised Andrew's towel had not been given back to us, but as soon as we pulled up the Thai lady started shouting to somebody who brought us the towel and also a bra of mine I hadn't realised was missing. We then called off at 'Multi Kulti' for some fresh bread rolls so we could make our own cheap sandwiches later, but we were also tempted by a huge cinnamon roll which we got to share. As I was eating my half a big bit dropped onto the floor, but I quickly adopted the five second rule and popped it into my mouth as it was too good to waste!

We spent a few hours sunbathing on the beach and I finished my terrible book even though the second from last page was missing . In short though, the middle-aged woman finished her affair and her and her husband lived happily ever after! We had a drive into the village to get something to make a sandwich. We got a cucumber for B3 and a BBQ chicken leg, literally, as it still had a clawed foot attached which was a bit wrong. There wasn't that much chicken on it though, so I had half a chicken and cucumber sandwich and then I coated the other half of my roll in nutella! It started to get quite cloudy so we decided to head to 'Blue Sky Resort' to use the free WiFi where we sat drinking tea and ovaltine!

We were watching a film in bed, but stupidly left the light on, so the next thing we knew a huge grasshopper shot across the room and landed on the wall. It didn't really know what to do and couldn't find a way out so it just danced around for a while! Then suddenly, a fairly large blue lizard covered in brown spots snuck up on the grasshopper and before we knew what happened we saw one grasshopper leg poking out of the mouth of the lizard! It took a while to eat the poor thing and it was a true David Attenborough moment! I was desperate for the thing to leave but it hung around for a while on the look out for another satisfying meal...
