Phuket, Thailand
We got woken up really early again and couldn't get back to sleep we we went for breakfast. We were transfixed by the Thai men outside unloading a truck full of watermelons and tapping each one to check it was to the right standard. We walked to the market and as is usually the case in a tourist area we got hassled to death by Tuk Tuk drivers asking where we were going whilst following us down the street. We got a songathew to 'Phuket Aquarium' which was actually really nice. It had a walk through tunnel and some fairly giant grouper fish. We returned to the Old Town market and I bought some sunglasses as my last pair fell apart on Ko Phayam and I don't want too many more wrinkles for my wedding! We walked along 'Thanon Phang Nga' to see the 'On On Hotel' another renovated Sino-Portuguese building, which was also in the opening seen of the film 'The Beach'. We stopped at 'Kaffe' for a sandwich and a coffee, but also ended up getting a desert. I had the best apply crumble ever and Andrew had a blueberry cheesecake. The place which tastefully decorated with concrete polished floors, mis-matched chairs and modern art, and it felt very European. We stopped off at a book shop and ended up spending ages just browsing through the shelves that contained thousands upon thousands of books, mostly fiction. However, Andrew found the random section of books that couldn't be categorised and I ended up buying 'Emotional Intelligence' whilst Andrew couldn't make his mind up whether to buy a book about building your own home! In the end he didn't as I told him he wouldn't bother reading it as the last book he bought ended up in the bin!

We then had a walk to the 'Shrine of the Serene Light' Chinese Temple which was small but pretty and displayed some beautiful detail . We then headed to the Phra Pitak Chinpracha Mansion built in 1903, which was once the 'Governor Residence' but is now the 'Blue Elephant' restaurant. It looked very well conserved and very grand! We chilled out in our hostel for a while before heading to the extremely cheap '8 Rew Restaurant' for something to eat. It was raining and the place was further away than we remembered so we got rather wet. The sky was lit by fork lightning on the walk home which I didn't like, but we soon got back and were shattered to went straight to bed.
