It was the same old story, we were woken up early by the noise and couldn't get back to sleep so we were ready to go for breakfast, but we couldn't find our door key. We decided to look for it after breakfast, but it was still nowhere to be found as we had looked under all the furniture. We both checked our backpacks but there was no sign of it, so we reluctantly had to pay the B300 fine. We were completely baffled as we had used the key to get into our room the previous night. We set off walking to the Bus Station and got a mini-bus to Phang Nga. It took very little time and when we got off the bus as always there were people asking us where we were going which is really off-putting. However, we realised it was Mr. Kean the tour operator that was recommended by the Rough Guide so we went to his office. He gave us a map and was really helpful in showing us the places of interest in the town. He went through the itinerary of his 'Phang Nga Bay' trip and we decided to go ahead and book it for the following day. 
 
We walked to 'Muang Tong Hotel' which was only down the road as the town itself was fairly small . The owner tried desperately to get us to have a more expensive air-con room but we were persistent and got a fan room. I sat on the bed and got quite a shock as it felt as though I had sat on concrete! I suppose you can't expect luxury for five pound a night and at least the place was spotlessly clean. We went in search of some food but soon came to realise that everything was signed in Thai as not many travelers pass through this part of Thailand. However, I remembered passing a KFC further up the road so that was without a doubt where we ate. It was ridiculously cheap at two pound a meal, which was less than what we paid for a Thai meal on Ko Phayam. We also got a donut each before walking back to our hotel and climbing into the inviting bed!
