The day it never stopped raining...

Krabi Town, Thailand
This morning Andrew was the first one up again and I had a mammoth sleep until 11:15am! I reluctantly went to have a cold shower and pulled on a pair of long trousers as it was another grey day. We went for something to eat at 'Good Dream' and decided to book ourselves a place on a 'Thai Cookery Course' for the following day, as everything else we wanted to do involved being outdoors and the rain was set for many more days ahead. We decided to stroll along the walkway that ran beside the estuary to take in some of the scenery. Ko Klang was very close and you could clearly see the mangroves surrounding the island. We continued until we saw the estuary's most famous features, the twin limestone outcrops, that are known as Khao Kanab Nam. They rise a few hundred metres above the water. It then started to rain so much that we had to take shelter in a coffee shop until it eased off, which took a while. The rain is starting to become relentless. We then walked towards the main street and past some bizarre sculptures of apes clutching traffic lights at a main crossroad. We came across 'Vogue Department Store' so decided to take shelter from the rain, again, and have a look around. It contained a Boots so I stocked up on some essentials and bought some cool hair-bands from a jewelery stand. We then walked further up the street and climbed quite a grand staircase to a new minimalist temple, called Wat Kaew Korawaram, which was a refreshing change to the glitzy gold temples we have seen around Thailand. It was completely white apart from a royal blue tiled roof. However, it was closed so we weren't able to see inside the temple itself. We also attempted to visit the 'Krabi Museum of Contemporary Art', but it was closed on a Monday. It was still raining so we returned to our room for a while before heading out to 'Cafe Europa' for a sandwich. The roads were beginning to turn into rivers by this point as it had rained heavily for many hours and there was even a road block in place as one road was difficult to pass. We watched a film when we got back to our room whilst listening to the splattering of rain on our window.
