Thunderstorm

Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia
We had a much needed late morning after the last few hectic days, so we didn't get up until 11:00am. We got ready and had a walk to the 'Sri Maha Mariamman' Hindu temple, which is the oldest in the city as it was built in 1873. It had a rather dramatic 22.9 metre high pyramid shaped tower at the entrance, which was covered in statues of Hindu deities. The inside of the temple was covered in decorative features such as carvings of Hindu deities and there was a main prayer hall that had a richly decorated ceiling. It was nice to walk around a peaceful temple complex. We then walked to 'Central Market' for something to eat and had the best meal yet in Kuala Lumpur. We set off for the 'Lake Garden' and made it as far as the 'Anniversary Theatre' before the sky turned black. It was most definitely going to rain so we decided to turn back, just as we saw fork lightning and heard the rumble of thunder in the distance. It seemed to take ages for the rain to eventually fall but it got heavy rather quickly, so we had to speed up. We took shelter in 'Central Market' as it was so heavy. We walked back to our B&B and chilled on the sofa for a while before heading to McDonald's for something to eat.
