We have a pool!

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
We had an unbroken sleep which is quite a luxury and didn't wake up until 10am. It may have had something to do our our ridiculously comfortable four poster bed! We went and sat on our veranda where we were soon approached by a member of staff who asked us what we would like for breakfast. A banana pancake, bowl of fresh fruit and a fresh Balinese coffee was brought to us within ten minutes and we didn't even have to move! We very much enjoyed the company of the Indonesian people who were beyond friendly. Moreover, it may just have been the best banana pancake we have eaten yet! The owner asked us if we were going to move somewhere else and we said yes, as Sania's House next door now had a room available. However, it was 200,000 per night and not 150,000 so we decided to stay put for the next two nights until Sam and Dean arrived as they had been so helpful and the breakfast was so nice! We enjoyed a nice hot shower before going next door to check that we could have two rooms for Saturday, which was fine. The owner was so apologetic about the mix up, which was another indication of the good natured Indonesian people. However, Andrew then started to question whether he had in fact booked 'Sania's House' in the first place! He was in charge of booking a room, for once, and admitted that he may have actually booked another place. Anyway, everything was sorted and we had a nice play to stay so we walked through the market to find a supermarket. It was a little frustrating as every step you took meant you were hassled by another person trying to sell you something. A woman even shoved a knife in front of me that she was trying to sell! We reached the other end safely and found a supermarket so that we could buy a pot noodle as we needed to stick to a strict daily budget in preparation for a blowout! We returned to our room to find our door wide open as there was a cleaner sweeping the floor. We didn't expect this one bit and had left our money on the bed along with the laptop and everything else of value, which was stupid in hindsight. He said he would come back later so we searched for our pile of cash on the bed but couldn't find it, so Andrew was just about to go and accuse the cleaner of theft when I looked inside the camera case. I vaguely remembered moving the money as it was on display, so managed to stop Andrew just in time. We ate our delicious pot noodle before we went to sit by the pool.

There was nobody else at the pool which was a good job as there were only three sun loungers quite close together . It didn't seem very hot and it was a little cloudy, so the sun kept disappearing but it was extremely peaceful as the pool was enclosed within a garden. There were many kites of various shapes and designs flying high in the sky. A bat shaped kite kept hovering above the pool. Once the sun had totally vanished for the day we returned to our room and watched a film. We were starving quite early so went to eat at a small restaurant that had been full the previous night as it was fairly cheap. We both ordered noodle soup but were somewhat disappointed as the noodles weren't fresh but were instead the same noodles found in a pot noodle! We felt rather cheated as we had saved money by eating a pot noodle earlier in the day and yet we were served pretty much the same thing in the restaurant. I craved something sweet so we had a walk to a supermarket and bought a packet of bourbon biscuits as well as a pot noodle for the next day. The tight budget will pay off when we have a blowout! I saw a sign for a book exchange so tried to exchange my book, but it turned out to operate more like a library so I had no joy. We returned to our room and sat and drank milo and coffee as we decided we shouldn't have a Bintang!
