Relax

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
We woke up after having yet another unbroken sleep as a result of Sayong House being situated at the end of a quiet little lane. We lazily stepped foot onto our veranda and we were again served breakfast to our liking. Once we had eaten we got ready and went to sit by the pool, as the sun was shining and it looked set to be a nice day. We spent the entire day sunbathing, reading and listening to the random pop music being played on a building site. There were many kites flying high in the sky and I wondered whether they were flown by children as they remained there all day. We returned to our room to eat our pot noodle and then had a quick trip to the supermarket to buy a packet of bourbon biscuits and a bottle of water. We returned to the pool side as the sun was dipping and spent the late afternoon relaxing, just as we had spent most of the day! It felt as though we were truly on holiday as it was the first time we had spent a whole day on a sun lounger by a pool. We returned to our room and sat on our veranda for a while before heading out in the rain for something to eat. We walked up a side street and found a nice looking, cheap restaurant but the popularity of the place meant it was full. It started to rain heavily so we just returned to the Chinese restaurant we had went to on a previous night. As a result of the rain we made a bit of a muddy wet mess on the white tiled floor in the restaurant, even after wiping our feet on the mat, but the Balinese people were so reassuring as they told us not to worry even though we kept apologising and looked guilty. We have truly been taken aback by the sheer bigheartedness of the people of Bali who have such a calm and friendly nature. We ordered egg soup to share and a rice and noodle dish. The egg soup tasted so refreshing as it was full of spring onion. We walked back to our room and got comfortable on our four poster bed to watch a film.
