Gili Air, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia
We woke up at around 11:00am even though Andrew had reassured Dean that his alarm was set for 5:30am so that we could get up to watch the sunrise. We missed our complimentary breakfast which wasn't too bad as the previous day we weren't that complimentary about the sweet, dry bread! We got ready and walked to 'Chill Out Bar' where we ordered something to eat. Andrew came over all nauseous just as his chicken burger was placed in front of him so he avoided eating which isn't like him at all! The service was really slow as we were all served our food before our drink. In addition, the food was very average so we made a note not to return. Dean caved in to the chicken burger that was going to go to waste so he ate breakfast and lunch in one sitting. We then walked to Scallywags Resort to use a sun lounger and chill on the beach for the rest of the day. It was scorching yet again so we sat and played Scrabble on a flimsy board made in Indonesia whilst topping up our tan. We then decided to have a photo shoot as Dean asked Andrew how he managed to jump so high and get his photo taken in the air. The only reply that came from Andrew was that you jump!

Once the sun had dipped behind the huge tree on the beach we walked back to our bungalow and got showered ready for the sunset . Andrew and Dean went to ask the owner for a fresh young coconut and they were amazed to see him clamber up a palm tree and watch four coconuts hurtle to the ground. As the juice had heated up in the sun it tasted a little fizzy as though it had started to ferment. Sam and Dean weren't really a fan! We got ready and set off walking to the north of the island to watch the sunset, but we underestimated how far we had to walk so ended up missing out! We searched for 'Harmony Cafe' as we had been told it was one of the nicest places to eat on Gili Air but we couldn't find the place. We even asked a local who claimed not to have heard of Harmony Cafe but then had a sign outside of his own place stating that his beer was cheaper than the beer at Harmony Cafe! Anyway, as we were walking back along the beach front Andrew recognised a couple that had stayed at the same place as us in the Cameron Highlands and Pulau Penang in Malaysia. It was weird to see a familiar face on such a small island. I suddenly became desperate for the toilet so we stopped at a restaurant but somebody was having a shower in the only toilet so we sharply left, much to the despair of the waiter as the place was completely empty. I had no other choice but to walk onto the beach and crouch behind a bush, but I looked up half way through to see two people walking out of the sea straight ahead of me holding a torch, even though Andrew was meant to be keeping watch for me! We ended up at 'Zipp Bar' once again as we could rely on the food and we couldn't resist the seafood BBQ. We had clearly become recognisable as the waiter didn't even need to take our drink order. We sat at a table to eat before moving to a bamboo beach hut for the rest of the night. Once we got back to our room we had a quick game of Scrabble on the veranda before packing our stuff ready for another early morning rise.
