The best place on earth to wake up...

Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand
We woke up at the ridiculous time of 6:20am as it was so bright immediately after sunrise. We managed to snooze for a little while longer but then we just got up and took our sleeping bag down to the beach. We were then told that breakfast was ready so we went to make a scrambled egg sandwich and a coffee. We still felt hungry so we got a slice of toast with marmalade before we went back to the beach. We didn't want to leave the place! The sun started to creep over the dramatic limestone karst and lit up the bay. Em gathered everyone together for a group photograph before we piled our belongings into a longtail boat and made our way to the exit point ready for an early morning swim back to the boat. The sea wasn't too rough and so we swam across the rocky sea bed without too much trouble, but the water felt cold! We reached the top deck and then we were on our way. Once we reached 'Monkey Beach' we paused for some snorkeling but I was too tired to get in the water. Andrew was brave enough to dive in off the top deck and then did a bit of snorkeling, but even I could see all the fish especially the big, brightly coloured parrot fish. We then made the final leg of our journey to Ko Phi Phi Don and said goodbye to everyone at the pier.
We walked to 'Lemongrass Restaurant' to collect our backpack and then made the tiring walk to 'Tropical Garden' as we couldn't be bothered to search for a different place to stay. However, we did manage to get a cheaper room at B400 but we had to share a bathroom. I immediately headed for the cold shower but it was merely a trickle so it took me a ridiculous amount of time to wash my hair. Once we were ready we walked to 'Breakers' as we felt hungry after being up at the crack of dawn. Andrew got an 'American Breakfast Set' while I had a bacon sandwich. As we sat eating we saw the Scottish men leave the restaurant who had also been to eat breakfast and the American couple walked past, as the island was so small we were expecting to see the rest of the people off the trip. We found the best deal for onward transport to Ko Phangan at B650 so we booked it for the following day. We then returned to our room as we were so tired and in need of a bit of sleep. However, only Andrew managed to fall asleep so I did a bit of New Zealand planning. Once Andrew woke up we walked into the village to get something to eat. We stopped at 'D's Cafe' as we had seem somebody eating a delicious looking fresh pizza. It was a decent offer as for B220 you got a large fresh pizza, a small Caesar salad and one soft drink. It was the best pizza we had eaten on the whole of our trip by a long way! I also spotted a glass cabinet full of cake, so I ordered a piece of banana cake to take away. It was even warmed up and put into a brown paper bag! We walked back to our room and chilled out for the rest of the night ready for a mammoth journey the following day. I soon fell asleep whilst watching 'The Bourne Identity' film.
