A day by the pool...

Ko Phangan, Thailand
We woke up and immediately had to confront the mess that laid on our bungalow floor. I had a quick hot shower, keeping one eye firmly on a cream coloured spider on the bathroom wall before I packed my backpack. I couldn't find my glasses case anywhere and got too hot in the process of looking so I had to go and sit outside. Sid was lying on the table to greet me as were two dead cockroaches, maybe as a result of Sid. Once Andrew had finished packing we walked to our moped. He managed to load my backpack onto the moped and carry his own round to our new bungalow, which was only next door. He returned and we ate breakfast before paying our bill. We had planned on using the taxi service to Thongsala but as we had checked out it cost B100 each, so we decided to just walk to 'Lucky Resort' which wasn't too much of a steep climb. Our bungalow was right by the pool side and so the first thing we did was jump in the pool. It was so warm that it didn't have the desired effect of cooling us off! I was happy that I could swing in a comfortable hammock whilst using WiFi, whilst Andrew went for a wander around the place. He then lay on a sun lounger until a three-legged dog turned up and scared him so he returned to our bungalow! We spent the whole day chilling out by the pool. Andrew enquired about renting a moped that was advertised at B200 per day, but the owner asked how long we would rent it for and as Andrew said five days the price was dropped to B180. However, Andrew told a little lie by saying he had been offered a moped for B150 and so the owner agreed on B150. We went to get something to eat at the restaurant and the staff were so friendly, in comparison to the previous place. They genuinely seemed happy to be of service!

We didn't manage to plan much of our New Zealand trip as the WiFi was intermittent, but the owner apologised and said the company had been contacted and made aware of the issue . There was a little rain shower but we were protected under our bungalow. I went to the restaurant and returned with two large Chang. We had a late afternoon dip in the pool, even though it had been empty all day. The WiFi connection returned so I managed to do a bit of planning whilst Andrew played in the pool. We went across to the restaurant for something to eat. I started shivering so Andrew went to get his hoody as I no longer had one since I left it on a plane. I even ordered a hot ovaltine to try and warm up. In the end the Green Curry I ate did the trick and I soon had to remove the hoody. We played a few games of cards before returning to our veranda. We lazed around for the rest of the evening and Andrew had a late night dip as he had turned into a swimming pool lover!
