Queenstown, Otago, New Zealand
Our alarm went off quite early as Andrew had to catch a bus to 'The Remarkables' ski field. I couldn't get back to sleep so once he had left I got ready and walked to 'Queenstown Medical Centre' for my cast check-up. I was the only person around so I asked whether it was open, which it was so I was the first patient of the day. I was called into a consultation room and a nurse checked that my cast wasn't too tight on my wrist. It was apparently a perfect fit even though I explained that it throbbed around my wrist! I was given a more comfortable sling to wear and told to continue taking pain relief. There was no charge for the check-up so I walked back to our hostel. I had a bit of a rest and then decided to go and watch 'Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows' at the cinema. However, just for a change my credit card wouldn't allow me to withdraw cash. I decided to just try it out at the cinema and it actually worked so I also got a regular popcorn but I was disappointed to find out that it was salted rather than sweet. Anyway, there was a short wait before the door to the cinema screen was opened so I ended up eating a fair bit of popcorn as I was starving. I found a seat near the end of an aisle as I was a loner and the film started after only one trailer. Once the film was over I walked back to our hostel and waited for the snowboarding people to return. It wasn't long before Alex knocked on the door as she left on her own. The ski field had been closed for a while during the day due to the poor weather, which was pretty frustrating. However, Andrew and Shane had decided to stay at the ski field so they returned a bit later. Once Andrew had returned, we had a walk to a supermarket to buy some bacon and cheese to make a cheap pasta dish. We ate and then watched a film before bed.
