Chill Out

Queenstown, Otago, New Zealand
Our alarm went off at 9am and we got ready for a trip to 'Queenstown Medical Centre'. It was only a short walk away and I was a little early for my appointment so I got to see the nurse straight away. I was given Panadol, as the nurse could see that I was in pain, before my plaster cast was split open. It felt such a relief to have the heavy thing taken off my arm and I was told that the fiberglass cast would be much more comfortable. I then had to have my left wrist x-rayed again to check that the bone was in the correct position. The doctor came to speak to me and said that my new cast would need to be moulded so it was suggested I accept the offer of gas and air as it would no doubt cause a fair bit of pain. I chose a green cast and then the nurse began to wrap it around my wrist as I inhaled a fair bit of gas! I couldn't help but laugh when the doctor had finished moulding my cast and then asked how it felt as I couldn't really feel anything. I was told to return later in the day if the cast felt too tight but if it didn't then I had to return the following day for a final check. I didn't have to pay for the x-ray so the bill was a reasonable $63 much to our surprise. We walked back to our hostel and called at a supermarket on the way to buy a loaf of bread. We made some toast for breakfast and then Alex knocked at our door.

We went to book a lift pass for Andrew, Shane and Alex for the following day and then went to 'Devil Burger' which was no where near as good as 'Fergburger' . We chilled out in our room for the rest of the afternoon before Andrew went to collect his snowboarding equipment. We decided to have an early night as yet again I was in agony and Andrew had to be up early the following day.
