Thai Takeaway

Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand
I woke up and had a shower whilst Andrew made me my final breakfast in bed. He also made us a sandwich for our bus journey whilst I sorted out our backpack. We had so much crap that we no longer needed so Andrew asked the owner if there was a charity shop in Blenheim. It was miles away so he instead hid the clothing in the wardrobe! We were all ready and waiting so we set off walking to the 'Railway Station' which was where we had to wait for the Intercity bus. There was only a handful of people on board and as we made our way south to Christchurch the bus driver gave us a running commentary about the route. We made a stop at Kaikoura and then continued on to Christchurch. As we reached our bus stop we spotted a Thai takeaway held in a caravan on the opposite side of the road and decided there and then that we would visit it once we had found our hostel for the night. It was only a short walk to 'Rucksackers Backpackers' where we had some difficulty checking-in as the member of staff had no idea how to use a very old paper based card swiping machine. We also had to pay an extra $2 each for a duvet because for some ridiculous reason a duvet wasn't included in the price of a dormitory bed. Anyway, the place was pretty disgusting and dirty but we dropped our stuff in our dormitory and made our way to the Thai caravan takeaway. Once we had eaten we used the internet to locate the nearest supermarket which wasn't exactly close. We walked to 'Fresh Choice' supermarket and ended up forgetting to buy the one thing we went for, a loaf of bread, but instead we bought a mixed bag of muffins and some alcohol. We sat in the filthy kitchen to have a drink before we called it a night.
