People in Europe sleep at the wrong time

Gatwick, England, United Kingdom
So apparently Jet Lag is a real thing. I was so tired but just couldn't fall asleep. Luckily my dad offered to take me down to the lobby and walk around for a bit. Then out of nowhere, Nonna showed up. She could see us walking in the lobby from her room, and came down to relieve Dad. Dad seemed very grateful and went off to bed, and I got to hangout with Babbo and Nonna.

The next morning we had to be up at 5AM to catch our flight to Bari, The flight was easy, I fell asleep as we were taking off and didn't wake up until Mom shoved a bottle in my mouth as we were descending . It was supposedly, a 3 hour flight, but it felt like about 10 min.

Once in Bari, we rented a car and had an uneventful drive to the Borgo Egnazia. Mostly it was uneventful for me, because I slept the whole time, Traveling is the easy part it's trying to sleep at night that's a pain. Why do they have to change time, can't they just use our time?
