Copenhagen -- Castles, Canals and Carlsbergs

Copenhagen, Denmark
After an overnight flight to Reyjkavik and a change of plane we arrived in Copenhagen on Tuesday afternoon.

Denmark has the longest running Monarchy (over a thousand years), is a world capital of design and architecture, is sexually liberated and is the home of only 5 .4 million people.

I am always gratified to see how small peoples (like the Danes and the Icelanders) can maintain language, art and culture while assimilating in the best of the world around them.

We took a canal tour to get our bearings and then headed out with our Frommer's guidebook to explore the city for the 2+ days that we have here.
