Stopping Half Way

Flagstaff, Arizona, United States
We left home about 11:30 this morning after stopping to pick up last minute needs at Walgreens.  The drive was easy the whole way.  We saw a lot of highway patrol cars stopping speeders and a lot of construction on the road.
We arrived in Flagstaff at 3:30 which was a half hour before usual check-in time at the Doubletree.  The clerk said that our room wasn't ready yet, but would be soon so we waited in the lobby for a few minutes.  While we were waiting, the fire alarm sounded.  The lobby was busy at the time--maybe twenty people or so.  They just looked around at each other wondering what to do.  The front door was close by, and there was no sign of fire or smoke.  After a couple of minutes, one young woman ran in and fiddled with the fire alarm panel by the reception counter.  She ran out of the lobby toward the back of the hotel.  No one else from the hotel was doing anything to help her.  She came back in a few minutes and said that an alarm pull station had been bumped accidentally by someone entering through the back door.  She finally got it turned off and went back to work.
Shortly after that excitement ended, the desk clerk came to me and said that our room was ready.  We got checked in quickly then and went back to the car to drive around to the second building in the back for our stay.  I like this hotel and will be happy to stay here again.  It looks familiar although I don't think we have stayed here before.  The main lobby and meeting room area must be on the same floor plan as another place we have stayed.
Philip worked on grading some papers this afternoon.  We went to Hickory's Smokehouse BBQ for dinner.  Good meat, okay sauce, nice waiter/counterman, fair prices.  They had Brisket Flat and Brisket Point on the menu.  I've never seen it described that way.  The server said that Flat was sliced from the middle of the brisket, and Point was the fatty, chopped, burnt ends.
