At sea
We slept late this morning.
After several nights of interrupted sleep, we knew it was time to catch up.
We had lunch and a formal dinner in the Bordeaux Dining Room at our favorite table. During the afternoon, the captain came on the loudspeaker in the hallway. One of the things he announced, and probably his reason for making the unscheduled announcement, was to say that Princess had changed a policy again. In keeping with the newest recommendations from the CDC, ship staff members are no longer required to wear masks. They are optional. I saw only one of the serving team in our area during dinner wearing a mask. Several of the other members that we’ve chatted with daily came by to reintroduce themselves and so we could see their faces They seem very happy not to have to wear masks. Several had gotten a bit sloppy with wearing them below their noses recently anyway.
Philip and I went to the production show “Do You Wanna Dance?” after dinner. The show was stopped about halfway through to correct a technical glitch. We waited a while but decided not to stay to see if it was fixed quickly. As we were walking out of the theater, the lights dimmed so I suppose it was ready to start again. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the first part so it was okay to miss the rest.
Back in our stateroom, we read and wrote until 11:00 hoping that would be a good time to try and see the Lights again. We went up to Deck 15 for a while, but never saw the Lights. So far on this cruise, at least a few passengers, and often many passengers, have seen the Lights each night we’ve been in the Arctic. We have seen them on two nights although we didn’t know that we saw them the first time until we looked through our photos where they became obvious. There are photos posted on the Island Princess and Princess Cruise Lovers Facebook pages each morning.
