The Ocean is Active

Bay of Biscay
We slept late today and waited for Alfredo’s Pizzeria to open for lunch.  While we were sailing, the ocean was quite active.  On the captain’s noon report, he said the ship was going 15 knots (usually a smooth ride) but experiencing gale force winds that caused some rolling, enough to get to me anyway.  This is the first day that the motion of the ocean has bothered me, but after a small lunch accompanied by two Dramamine tablets, I was back to feeling normal.
Philip and I went to a presentation on DNA testing by Dr. Gary Koverman.   Other than hearing about the book “The Dark Lady of DNA” by Brenda Maddox which tells the story of the woman who did much of the research with which Watson and Crick are credited, I got nothing out of the presentation.  Poorly designed and poorly presented, it was a waste of time.  Sounded like the folks in the elevator after the presentation agreed.  Philip pointed out several outdated statistics that were included making the other facts suspect, too.  He could do a much better job.
The evening show was a fun tribute to the Beatles by Just John and Paul.   They sang mostly early Beatles hits.  The two men of the group are brothers who sing just the songs that Paul and John sang.  One of the brothers also laid down tracks for the other voices and instruments so the two of them did the whole performance.
