Yesterday started out with beautiful weather and bright blue, calm seas.  I sat on the balcony reading for a while.  By the afternoon, the sky had turned gray, and we had a bit of rain.  In the evening after dinner, fog surrounded the ship which blew its foghorn intermittently for several hours.

We had a nice dinner at the French specialty restaurant, Bistro Sur La Mer starting with an amuse bouche of fried polenta sticks with tomato sauce and what they called cheese olives.  They looked like olives, and had some olive flavor, but they were made of soft cheese.  Philip had traditional escargot although they also serve escargot battered and fried.  I had lobster bisque which was served with a papery crust much like the top of a pot pie and filled with shrimp, mussels, salmon, and vegetables.  No lobster that I found.  We both had filets which were cooked perfectly and served with caramelized onions and roasted potatoes.  The steak was delicious, but I didn’t care for the sweet onion sauce.  For dessert, Philip chose the chocolate bar with coffee cream topping.  I had the lemon/lime flavored meringue.  We both loved the wine choice:  Bordeaux by Legende Domaine Barons de Rothschild.  It was priced right to be included in our drinks package, too.  This restaurant has an up charge of $29 per person.  We each have two included specialty restaurant dinners on this cruise that either came with the package when we booked the trip or as a gift from the travel agent.  Everything that we have as included extras on all the Princess cruises now say they are gifts from the travel agency even if included as part of the package we bought.  

This morning we had breakfast in the buffet since we missed the dining room hours and spent the morning at the Princess LIVE bar reading and working the daily puzzles.  Philip likes the way the bartender there makes his vanilla latte.
