Walking Around the Temple Bar Area

Overnight at The Morrison in Dublin
Breakfast in the hotel this morning confirmed again why I avoid buffets.   After picking up a couple of things from the buffet and ordering from the short, cooked-to-order menu, I watched a man at the buffet drop the scrambled eggs’ serving spoon, look around, bend to pick it up, look around again, then replace the spoon back on the tray where it sits between uses.  He then went on to the next chafing dish to pick up some sausages and did not alert any of the wait staff to the problem.  I was agape staring as was the woman at the next table.  She got up and picked up that spoon and took it to one of the waiters who replaced it with a clean spoon.  Guess who is my hero of the day!
We walked around a little during the middle of the day stopping at the Irish Rock and Roll Museum.  They do not allow anyone to visit and look at the exhibits without being on a guided tour so we decided to pass on it.  It was a bit too far for me to feel comfortable walking to the Murphy’s ice cream shop so we skipped that, too.   All in all, a nice time seeing some of the touristy Temple Bar area, but didn’t get to where we planned.  Those stops can be added to a future trip.  When we returned to the hotel, I asked the desk clerk to book us a taxi to the airport for tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
We had a nice dinner at a good price at the Woollen Mills just a short walk from the hotel — fish and chips or me and a perfectly cooked steak for Philip.
Back in the room, we packed for our return trip to London tomorrow morning.
