Returning to Lexington

Lexington, Kentucky, United States
We had a great waitress for breakfast today at the Garden Inn.  Her name tag seemed to be Japanese, Tamiko, maybe, or something close to that.  Philip recognized that she sounded like a native Japanese speaker by the "neh" sound she added to the end of many English words.  He spoke to her in Japanese, and she seemed surprised yet thrilled to hear it.
We had not planned anything specific for today other than driving back to Lexington, so we made a last minute decision to make two stops on the way.  First, we went to the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville.  It was right on the highway and about thirty minutes from Louisville.  We both found some good deals, and I bought four tops at Chico's and Philip bought one shirt at Eddie Bauer.
It was lunchtime when we were finished shopping so we looked around their food court and found Carali’s Rotisserie Chicken.  We shared a chicken wrap and yuca fries.  I don't remember having yuca fries before.  They tasted quite bland and much like steak fries made from potatoes.  Yuca is pronounced YOO-ka and is made from the root of the cassava plant, not the desert cactus called yucca.
Another hour down the road, our second stop of the day was at the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill.  It is not open on Mondays for tours, but the grounds are open for hiking and walking.  We drove around the property seeing lovely green rolling hills and a number of sturdy-looking and functional buildings.
Today, we were driving on the little backroads and went about 30 miles out of the way to go by the Shaker village.  We avoided the heavy traffic area coming into Lexington from the west that we saw when here last week.
From the hotel, we drove a couple blocks to dinner at Mr. Brews Taphouse, and we are in the room for one last overnight at the Homewood Suites Lexington.
