Back in LA and off to London tonight.

Los Angeles, California, United States
I had to lose 5kg from my checked luggage because British Airways is only 23kg (and our Qantas limit was 32 kg). So I rearranged everything - and had a very heavy backpack. The car didn't know itself when we left the motel, about 9.45, with everything packed away neatly!

We went down the 101 until we hit the coast at Gaviota . Sunshine! Glorious sunshine and it reached 20C. For all of 5 minutes. Then it was along the coastline (highway 1/Ventura Highway/Pacific Coast Highway) until we got to Santa Monica and hit the Los Angeles "freeways".

We left the main highway several times to explore the coastline. We didn't walk to far on the sand, as we were dressed for the plane.

For example: - "Alongside Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County, the Point
Mugu Naval Air Station is home to the Pt. Mugu Missile Park. There
you can see a wide variety of the missiles and airplanes that have been
tested at Point Mugu since World War II. The park is located outside the
perimeter fence and is easily accessible to the public. There is no
charge for touring the missile park."

My luggage ended up being okay and I could take some out of my backpack (thank heavens).

It's now Friday lunchtime. And it's off to Huddersfield next weekend. I'll do another blog when we go to Europe. Let me know if you want to be taken off my email list - or if you would like to be added.
