The Tapestry is absolutely amazing!

Bayeux, Normandy, France
Breakfast at Ferme Saint Joseph was amazing - cereal, fruit, lots of cakes, egg, and the usual croissants, bread and jams (tasted home made - so were the cakes etc) and so on. Then we got driven to the bus stop! Thank you Marie Brigitte. She drove us and 2 others.

We had to pay €3 .10 each on the bus to get to the Pontorson/Mont Saint Michel railway station. Apart from the fact that it was a very expensive 5 minute bus trip, the things we (and others) read sounded as though the train ticket included a shuttle bus from Pontorson to Mont Saint Michel. There IS a free shuttle bus from the car park back inland from the Barrage - it goes to the Mont itself and stops at the Barrage as well.

It wasn't far to Bayeux, but took 2 trains. At our hotel just after midday but the room wasn't ready, so left our bags and went exploring.

Bayeux is a very small town. Very nice. We couldn't take photos of the Bayeux Tapestry, but it was amazing. Stretched out in a U shape - and it was dark apart from the lights illuminating the tapestry. We had headsets and the tapestry had numbers at the top so you could keep track of the audio and the tapestry. Don't know how old the numbers are - not new anyway.
