We had a pretty rough night – the ship had
moved out of the fjord areas and was back out on the ocean. I actually really enjoy when it’s rough and
I’m tucked up in bed.
We had a nice leisurely start to the day
and eventually headed up to Horizon Court for breakfast. We checked out a few
events around the ship then went to Bingo – no luck this morning – got down to
one number twice. We headed up for some
lunch and checked out the big screen where they were showing the six nations
game between Ireland and Scotland. But
it was bitterly cold so we didn’t hang around although some devotees were
rugged up and watching. We headed back
to our cabin for a while and then Craig realized it was actually being shown on
the TV so watched it for a while. There
was a quiz game on up in Club Fusion so we went and watched that and the
England France game was on the TV there so Craig perched at the bar and watched
that. Meanwhile the afternoon bingo
session was starting so I decided to have another go. And this time I was lucky – I had to share
but still got $50 so was pretty jubilant about that.
By this time we were just arriving at
Amalia Glacier – the seas were much calmer again as we were once again in the
fjord area. We got our warm gear and headed
up to the top deck to get a good look.
The captain then turned the ship side on – first one side then the
other. Once he started to turn so the
port side was facing we went back to our cabin and out onto the balcony where
we had a fabulous view. The blues of the
glacier were fantastic – just like a giant tub of blue ice cream.
Once the ship sailed away from the glacier
we got changed and went down to Crooners for a pre dinner drink. Our table companions tonight were Kirstin and
Vile – the couple who had the talk the other day about their bike ride from
Alaska to the End of the World. They
were a lovely couple and great fun to chat to.
We also had two ladies from Melbourne and a couple from Melbourne – a
real strong Aussie contingent tonight!
We went back to Crooners for a nightcap then Craig headed back to the
cabin. As I discovered when I got back
he’d then gone to the Laundromat and got a load of washed and dried. He’d been trying to get this done for the
last few days but most of the Laundromats were closed for some reason and the
two which were open were constantly busy.
He’d had the idea that late at night he might have a better chance – and
he did. Meanwhile I popped into the
Casino. It was an investment night and I
tripled my stake before coming up to bed.
