My turn

Punta Arenas, Magallanes y la Antártica Chilena Region, Chile
It wasn’t so much the sea that was rough last night as it was me.  I came down with Craig’s cough and cold.  But it starts with a sore throat which fortunately quickly morphs into runny nose, cough etc.  But in the early hours of the morning I felt like I had several razor blades lodged there.
So a very slow start to the day but since it was a sea day it didn’t matter.  We eventually went up to Horizon around 11am and just had a little snack – the reason being that the Wheelhouse Bar were doing a British Pub lunch and I figured there would be fish and chips on offer and I felt in serious need of some comfort food.
We had a bit of a walk around checking out a few places and then around 12.30 we went for our lunch.  It was yummy and Craig had a Boddingtons just to make him feel he really was in an English pub – we even took a picture for you Ian!
The cabin stewards had been really busy this morning hand delivering passports back to passengers so he hadn’t done our room when we’d been back just before lunch.  We had a seat in Crooners without a drink – definitely unusual and then eventually came back up to the cabin by which time Constancio had been.  I climbed into bed, snuggled down and had a good sleep.  We spent the rest of the afternoon watching movies, documentaries and reading my book.
It was the third formal night tonight and I briefly considered getting all dressed up but neither of us really felt like it so we just changed and headed down to Crooners.  You’re frowned upon if you go to any of the dining rooms on formal night without wearing formal clothes but you can go to any of the other restaurants or Horizon without being dressed up.  We decided to try the Salty Dog Gastropub.  It’s in the Wheelhouse bar every night  from 6 to 10 and has a just a $12 covercharge each. We had a table just for the two of us and had an entrée of breadsticks and dip along with prosciutto and a green salad.  Then I had calamari frites and crabcake with salad.  It was delicious but I couldn’t finish it.  For dessert we had lemon posset – again fabulous but I couldn’t finish it.
We came back to Crooners for a nightcap then just headed up to bed.
