Sorting the Suitcases

Puerto Montt, Los Lagos Region, Chile
So here it was - that dreaded last day though it didn't seem so bad this time as we still have another adventure to look forward to.  We had our usual cuppa and then I started on the packing.  It would be great if I could just put everything back where it was in the same bags and suitcases.  But we have a variety of luggage restrictions for the next leg of our trips I had to pack as much as I could in one case so we can leave that one at the hotel in Lima - so all the formal and evening stuff went in there.  Then I had to think about the next stage when we actually to go Machu Picchu - the plan for that is to take only overnight bags on that leg and send our other stuff on to Cusco.  Anyway think I've got it almost sorted.
I stopped half way through and we headed up to breakfast.  We wanted to catch up with Na before we left and this was really our only chance.  She brought us both one of her special lemon and honey teas to help our colds and then we managed to get a few pics of us all.  She's so little that there's no way you can get all three of us in a pic unless you stand half a mile away so she sat on Craig's knee for a couple and then he sat down and we stood for a couple.  It was so lovely to see her again.
Back to the room and attacked the remainder of the packing and then we went down to the International Cafe for a bite of lunch.  We just kind of moseyed around for a while - catching up with a few people we'd met and making sure we caught up with each of the guys in Crooners.  Didn't want to leave it till night in case some of them were on a break when we were there.   As my regular readers will know we usually frequent Crooners Bar on Princess ships and we always have a great time there and have met some fabulous bartenders and stewards, but have to say we've never encountered a team like these guys who worked so well and harmoniously together and I reckon made every person who walked into that bar feel like they were the only person on the ship who mattered.
Then it was the final day of bingo with a jackpot of $2,300 so of course I had to get my hat in the ring for that.  But it wasn't to be.
We went back up to the room and changed for dinner, packed our day clothes and put our big suitcases outside the door for collection that night.  We went straight down to dinner and head a table for six - so easy chatting.  An Aussie couple from Sydney and a Canadian couple from Winnipeg.
We popped into Crooners for one last drink and then headed up to bed.  It was only about 8.45 but we needed to be up by 4.30am to get showered, dressed and downstairs for a quick cuppa (no room service on the last day) and a croissant and then be in the dining room by 5.50am.  So an early night was required!
