Now Its the Really Pointy End!

Boyne Island, Queensland, Australia
So here we are - all packed - apart from a handful of very last minute items.  The van is hitched to the car and sitting on the front lawn ready for take off.
Its been a pretty full on couple of weeks as we compiled lists from our lists and measured our success in terms of ticks.  We were going pretty well till Tuesday when the pool filter decided to have a little hissy fit and poor Craig's ticks ground to a standstill while he worked on solving those issues.  Meanwhile the car went in for a service that day and then Wednesday the pool issues weren't fully resolved and on Thursday we were scheduled to take the car to Rockhampton to have the long awaited bullbar fitted.
So I suggested that instead of us both going and hanging around North Rocky shopping centre all day, that just I go and Craig could crack on with the pool etc.  Happy to say that by the time I'd got to Rocky at 8am he had the pool problem nailed and was rapidly progressing through the rest of his ticks.
ARB were pretty prompt fitting the bullbar and I got a call just before 1pm saying it was ready to collect.  (Of course while this was happening I was picking up a bargain or two in the shopping centre!!)
Friday I went to Robyn and got my final cut and colour - who knows how it will look by the time I get to Perth.   But right now its fabulous.  Then I  managed a couple of hours catch up with Lee and Shane who had come up from Brisbane to do some maintenance work on Lee's house.  It was so good to see her as I think it was probably 3 years since we'd last caught up. At night we'd a final final catchup with Margaret and Martin - it was meant to be last week then we got the oyster and prawn night idea (that's a whole other story) but suffice to say we had another great night where we both ate and drank far too much.
Saturday was lots of last minute little things and late afternoon Szulca arrived.  So we had a lovely evening hearing all about her recently purchased project home in Wowan and generally getting her familiarised with the house and garden.
So really by this morning there wasn't much left to do.  We went to town and had lunch with Grant, Paula and all the offspring - can't really call them kids any more since Josh is 19 and Aliah is 18!  Then we came home and had a quick final hooroo with Deb and Ian who popped in on their way to catch up with other friends.
After they left we hitched up the car to the van and have moved it parallel to the road ready for an easy take off in the morning and that also lets Szulca get her car up the driveway into the carport.
We think we know where our first stop will be - but I'll leave you in suspense meantime.
