Route

We left Tadoussac mid morning headed up the north shore of the Seaway to get the ferry at Forestville. Weather was glorious, arrived at the ferry port which is just a small loading area, all was deserted as the ferry was not due for another hour or so. Ticket had been booked on the phone so we go to find a drink and a bit of shade.

Ferry Forestville

Land at Rimouski

We headed up the coast towards Sainte Anne des Monte passed open sandy coast line bit if a contrast to the north coast. Sunshine was gorgeous but it was very windy. We of course had to have our customary picnic this time by the sea.

Arrived a Sainte Anne des Monte no hotel no park, GPS just ended in the middle of now where. We start to realise that postcodes are not used quite the same as in the UK and could encompass very wide areas. No help when you don't know where you are going and the map we have was for the whole of Canada. After a bit of discussion the driver allowed the navigator to decide. We took the 299 into the Gaspesie National Park. Only one road so we kept on going Tom not happy. Just as the sun was setting we came across Auberge Le Gite du Mont Albert.

Built as an alpine style lodge this is a little bit of luxury in a wilderness. We check in, rush for dinner which was a gourmet special not quite what we were prepared for but tasty.
