Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, United States
Harpers Ferry is found at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah river. The area is notable as a centre of 19th Century industry. Steep cobblestone streets with mountains and river backdrop. Sparks from events here in the 1800 eventually led to the civil war. Slavery being the issue and was the site of John Browns abolitionist uprising.
A walk round the town is well worth the it, we took a short break as it was very hot took the opportunity to don shorts others headed for the river another time I think we will do the same.
