Lamar Valley

Sheridan, Wyoming, United States
Yellowstone is a very special place each entrance shows a different side of it. We have been lucky enough to be able to see a large amount on this trip I never tire and would come back again and again.

We are heading north east via the Lamar valley towards Cooke City.

The valley is wide open rolling hills with the Lamar river dissecting the centre which attracts the wildlife particularly the bison. This visit there are hundreds split in to herds all away along the valley giving plenty of photo opportunities. Good reason why this is call North America Serengeti.

The beautiful scenery does not stop at the gates of Yellowstone all the way to Red lodge we travel on twisty mountain switch backs past alpine lakes. It would be hard to choose if asked which is the best way in or out of Yellowstone.

Some where after Red Lodge we miss a turning not perturbed Tom goes of road so he does not have to turn back.

Gravel roads and open plain until at last we are back on the main road trying to get to Sheridan.
