Up early to find it raining hard and also a herd of elk on the lawn in front of our room, what a start.
 
  
 
Decided the rain wouldn't beat us so after negotiating a special price for bike rode into jasper for breakfast. Arrived wet but great breakfast, stayed until rain stopped.
 
Followed a trail out of Jasper (got a whistle and a wave from a freight train)
 
  crossed the river to carried on to Maligne Canyon 15 bridges or something, 6 actually but felt like more, got lost as usual, rain closed in but we found cafe and waited it out.

Finally made it back about six, great days riding
