Detour into Whistler

Whistler, British Columbia, Canada
On the phone early trying to locate new tyres, tyres are sold by motorcycle shops not tyre shops and after many calls to dealers in Prince George gave up and decided to push on. The rear from Dawson is almost done and the front also needs replacing, ok if it's dry bit dodgy if it's wet. NOTE TO SELF plan and preorder tyres in advance.

The ride to whistler is a great ride and we hoped to meet up with Malcolm and Jana before they headed to Vancouver and home.

Making good progress we planned to arrive mid afternoon, filled up at Clinton and headed for Pavillion to get to Lillooet, we were stopped at the junction and told the road was blocked by landslide.
Two options a 2 hour detour or back to Clinton then a dirt road across the mountain bypassing the slide.

Thirty miles back we were in Clinton again and found the dirt road ( we had road it before on previous holidays) and headed over the pass, the road over was a bit greasy and washed out
And I was worried about getting punctures in so remote an area with my knackered tyres but all was well and we had the amazing views riding down into Pavillion, even though they have now put in power cables.

We are now a couple of hours behind and need to get across another mountain pass starting in Lillooet. It started to rain but we pushed on, this is an amazing pass but we always seem to ride it in the rain.

Arriving late again we found the hotel they were staying and joined them in the Restaurant.

Totally Knackered, bike did a great job!
