Tadoussac, Quebec, Canada
The night before at the last minute we decided to book to go whale watching. It meant being up early and a bus would collect us from reception (only to find we were going 100 yards down the road so we could have walked). Having put some very fetching gear on we climb aboard, we are taken out to the St Laurence. Fairly quickly at a distance we are able to see some whales coming to the surface. We spend several hours bobbing about glimpsing a fin or a tail. It is an amazing sight.

Eventually we are bought back to land we wander into town. Tadoussac is not very big couple of streets with a store and a few restaurants. There is something very attractive about the bay and brightly colored buildings.

We buy lunch and go for a walk round the bay, over the rock where the Saguenay river joins the St Laurence. We sit for a while letting the world go by. Silently and smoothly in front of us a Minky whales slips past. It was incredible we were treated to several times, the whale gliding passed us, stunning.

On our way back wanting to see more, Tom fancies kayaking. On the beach there was a company running tours taking a party out up the river. Give it ago although my first thoughts were a bit worrying especially when I found out I had to sit in the front and could not steer. Dress again in another trendy outfit, this time also with shoes to match we head for the river. It was a beautiful afternoon, too lovely to leave my camera behind, "take it at my own risk" I was told several times.
After some brief instructions we followed our guide out into the seaway,
due to the change of tides and the flow of the river time was short to cross estuary off we paddled.
