Last minute dot Tom strikes again!!!!!!

San Diego, California, United States
Day started with a list.
Tom and Lindsay had to get documents copied Marion and I had to get some retail therapy in as we imagine this will be in thin supply over the coming months .

First stop for us is trying to get the remaining prescription dispensed as cheaply and quickly as possibly. We will never complain about UK prescription charges again. Result after 3 pharmacies $180 bargain after yesterdays.
However this all took so long the retail therapy had to be put on hold.

Once we were all back lunch was calling, La Jolla has a number of really nice lunch spots. Outside under palm trees along the street or on balconies over looking the coast.

A few beers and lemonades later we stroll back to sort out the bike insurance for Mexico.
It would possibly cross a few readers mind as to why at 4pm the day before we are supposed to cross the border to Mexico that not only were Lindsay and Tom trying to apply for the required insurance. That in Tom's case had to find one that would accept a UK bike. However we will not say to much and one was found at 5.20pm however as we have a UK address the application could not be done on line . After a phone call to the company Tom had to admit defeat and agree nothing could be done until tomorrow. Once he had given himself a good talking to as to how this had happened as we have just spent 3 days waiting for other things why had this not been considered we all went for dinner.
Not really sure what all the fuss was about, here we are in La Jolla San Diego, sunshine palm trees good food and company. We should be in Baja which is under water at the moment due to Hurricane Odile. All seems fine to me.

So to be fair it was not just Tom who leaves things but nothing should be a rush now - no stress. I have to go on the hunt for contact lenses. These we now realise are not generally stocked by opticians in the US. If you have time to order you are fine. However the are a bit fussy with the documentation you have to provide. How we managed to get Toms in SF ???? 4 opticians and an hour walking round La Jolla I manage 25 days worth. If you had the time in every town you need never pay for lenses again just keep getting trial packs. Let's hope this works in Mexico.
