Potholes and Pot - Yecora

Yecora, Sonora, Mexico
After a slow start we finally got moving and headed for Creel which is supposed to be a central point for Copper Canyon.

T he road from the 15 at Cuidad Obregon (117) became more and more potholed an as we headed up into the mountains every bend held a surprise, rocks, fallen tree, donkeys , cows, group of monkey like things (unidentified) even a guy who had stopped his truck on a bend and was picking canabis from the roadside.
We have to recalibrate our speed and distance expectations when traveling in Mexico.

When we finally hit the 16 it was late afternoon and getting dark, it looked like the tents would be coming out but coming down from the mountain we came to the town of Yecora and after meeting another motorcycle rider (Dave aka Roger ) he directed us to a hotel??. Not really a hotel, a room with a bed.

Dinner was a few beers with our supply of nuts and raisins in the local bar, the music was loud and the barmaids were very big but friendly and probably seemed to be up for more than serving beer.

Tracy slept in her liner I was going to get mine but fell asleep. Some bloody adventure motorcyclist.

Looks like the side stand is bending as the bike is leaning more than it used to. Will have to get it sorted when back in civilisation. finally seem to have the packing sorted with the two addition Kreiga bags.
Really impressed with hiedenau tyres, good grip dry and wet and lasting well.

The guy who directed us to the hotel was Dave who like us had jacked it all in, the difference is he has only been riding 3 months and is travelling alone. He's on a triumph and is carrying more stuff than we are.
